Actor Sivaji on Thursday launched night vigil at Dharna Chowk at 7 pm as part of his protest demanding Special Category Status for the state.  The night vigil will continue up to 7 am on Friday. 

Vijayawada: Actor Sivaji on Thursday launched night vigil at Dharna Chowk at 7 pm as part of his protest demanding Special Category Status for the state. The night vigil will continue up to 7 am on Friday.

On the occasion, he appealed to parties to fight unitedly against the Centre demanding SCS and fulfilment of other promises mentioned in the AP reorganisation Act.

He said people would be confused if the parties stage protests separately and added he launched night vigil to draw the attention of people regarding the injustice done by the Centre to the state.

He asked the people of Karnataka to think before exercising their franchise in the elections. The people of Karnataka should vote against the BJP and teach fitting lesson to its leaders, he said.

He criticised the BJP government for not extending support to complete the Polavaram project also. AP NGOs Association president P Ashok Babu, MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Muslim leaders and Advocates JAC Forum met Sivaji and extended their support.
