Beneficiaries deprived of houses in past to get now
The state government has decided to sanction houses to the poor who were purported to be allotted house during the time of previous government. The Group of Ministers (GoM) led by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday took the decision in this regard.

Amaravati: The state government has decided to sanction houses to the poor who were purported to be allotted house during the time of previous government. The Group of Ministers (GoM) led by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday took the decision in this regard.
Officials informed the ministers that it became difficult to them to sanction houses to some poor as the records show they had already been sanctioned houses in the past even though they don’t really have any pucca house.
Several poor people facing such situation were applying for houses, officials said. The ministers discussed the issue and opined that houses had been sanctioned without notice to beneficiaries and the amount might have been misused.
The GoM instructed the officials that a field enquiry must be conducted in such cases and house be sanctioned to the poor if they don’t have any pucca house even though their names had already been mentioned in records in the past. “After conducting field enquiry, you can remove their names in the old records and sanction houses to them if they are eligible,” the GoM suggested.
The GoM also decided to sanction new houses to STs whose houses sanctioned before 2004 were damaged. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu told the officials to expedite the construction of houses under various government schemes according to the target set by the state government. “As there are sufficient funds to the housing schemes, the construction process needs to be expedited.
The government is also ready to sanction funds to create infrastructure in some colonies where houses are sanctioned to the poor,” he said. Yanamala also suggested that the beneficiaries be allowed to get additional facilities in the house with their own resources. He also told the officials to provide infrastructure to those houses that were not occupied by the beneficiaries due to lack of basic amenities.
Ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, P Narayana, K Atchannaidu, principal secretary to municipal administration Karikalvalaven and Housing Corporation managing director Kantilal Dande participated in the meeting.
