Visakhapatnam: As per the Administrative Staff College of India suggestions, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is gearing up to develop all the schools with latest play equipment and modern infrastructure.

Commissioner of GVMC M Hari Narayanan supervising the works to ensure that the developed and reconstructed schools would be kept ready on the first day of the class in the coming academic year.

In order to develop all its schools to attract more students, the GVMC urged the Administrative Staff College of India to prepare a study report how to develop the schools. After studying present infrastructure of the schools, the Administrative Staff College has given its report stressing the need for good infrastructure.

The Administrative Staff College of India noticed that there are several facilities are not in the schools and suggested the GVMC to modernise the schools with infrastructure. As per the directions, the GVMC proposed to develop the 16 schools at an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore.

The floors of the classroom being developed with the tiles, provision of potable water, repair and digging of new borewells, furniture and modernised black boards were arranged in the schools.

The Academic Staff College also told GVMC to maintain hygiene in the schools and develop greenery. The surroundings of the playgrounds are being developed with good shade and avenue plantation. Commissioner M Hari Narayanan directed the officials to complete the works prior to the reopening of the schools with new look.

Observing the facilities and running water facilities in the schools, the Administrative Staff College also directed the GVMC to provide necessary facilities, including lighting, running water and good sanitation in the washrooms.

With this, the Commissioner directed all the headmasters of the schools to repair and clean all the toilet blocks, if any before the commencement of the classes for the next academic year. The GVMC already launched digital classes in majority of the schools and making arrangements to all the schools with latest projectors and equipment.
