Vijayawada: International and national kabaddi sports persons alleged that the Kabaddi Association state secretary V Veera Lankaiah is harassing them to give Form 2 certificates.

In this regard, women kabaddi players P Sunitha, K L V Ramana, P Sunitha, S Goutami, P Dhana Lakshmi, speaking to the media said that they were facing sexual harassment from the association secretary.

They alleged that Veera Lankaiah misused his power and sold about 30 certificates making several lakhs of rupees. They said that a complaint has already been lodged with the Police and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu against Veera Lankaiah.

P Sunitha, national team member, said the secretary was demanding money or sexual favours for giving Form 2. S Goutami, national player, alleged that the state secretary was obstructing from joining the sports camps and he even abuses them in public.

Krishna District Kabaddi Association secretary Y Srikanth said that Veera Lankaiah has been working as secretary for the last 20 years which was illegal. He said Veera Lankaiah had sexually harassed many girl kabaddi players. He said that he was also responsible for the death of a sportsperson in 1995.
