Tirupati: Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao warned the shop owners and vendors to stop selling the food items for high prices.

He inspected the shops at RTC central bus stand here on Thursday, over the allegations of vendors selling food items and beverages for high prices to the commuters. He made a surprise visit to the bus stand on Thursday evening.

Pulla Rao directed the food stall owners to sell the food items and beverages for MRP. He stated that the Weights and Measures department will book cases if the vendors violate rules.

Earlier, the Minister interacted with commuters and shop owners and checked the MRP printed on packed food items. Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman Narasimha Yadav, Gunashekar Naidu and RTC officials were present.
