Deputy tahsildar working at Sarubujjili Mandal Revenue Office was caught redhandedly by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials at his office on Friday.
Srikakulam: Deputy tahsildar working at Sarubujjili Mandal Revenue Office was caught redhandedly by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials at his office on Friday.
According to ACB Srikakulam DSP K Rajendra Kumar, the Deputy tahsildar M Nagendra Prasad demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe from a farmer, G Eswara Rao to issue land ownership certificate (LOC).
The farmer needs LOC on his lands to get compensation from government under rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) package. The farmer lands were acquired for Vamsadhara high level canal.
Vexed with the attitude of the Deputy Tahsildar, Eswara Rao approached the ACB officials and based on their suggestion, he agreed to pay the amount. The ACB officials arrested the Deputy Tahsildar while he was accepting Rs 10,000 from the complainant.
