An eyewitness A Ramana Reddy said that he had seen four persons, all in the age group of 22 and 25, were wandering on the outskirts of the village. “We were able to nab one among the four persons,” he stated.

Fearing attack from Pardhi gang, youth have formed teams in villages of Valluru, Nandalur, Chennuru, Badvel, Proddatur, Mydukur and Chintakomma Dinne mandals, which were close to national and state highways.

They are conducting night patrolling in the villages. Members of the Pardhi gang belongs to tribal community and they reside in Pune and Nanded district in Maharashtra. According to the information from the Police department, about 200 members of the Pardhi gang have migrated to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states along with their families. Each Pardhi gang consists of 10 to 15 members including women.

They put up tents beside railway tracks on the outskirts of villages and towns. Women conduct recce in the guise of beggars and rage pickers and select the houses to be robbed by their men. The gang members unleash the terror in the house by attacking the inmates with lethal weapons.

When contacted by The Hans India, District Superintendent of Police (SP) Attada Babujee said that there was no authentic information over the movements of Pardhi gang in the district. He made an appeal to the public not to attack or manhandle the newcomers when they were moving in the villages. He asked them to handover strangers to cops if they suspect them as members of the Pardhi gang.
