Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh Private Schools Association (APPSA) demanded that the Telugu Desam government scrap the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system. State Chairman of APPSA KSN Murthy said that the marks in the CCE pattern is 20 per cent internal and 80 per cent external.

For 20 per cent internal assessment, there is every possibility of malpractice in schools for fear of losing the credibility of the respective schools. Though the aim of CCE system is good, it is not easy to implement and require much awareness. KSN Murthy has written a letter to Commissioner and Director of School Education Department requesting do away with the CCE system.

Due to the CCE system, there was a great unrest among the students and teachers and the performance of both teachers and students will decrease, Murthy added. It will be better if the CCE system is removed in the upcoming 2018-19 academic year for the sake of the students, teachers, parents and management of the private schools. The APPSA demanded that the government conduct the examinations for 100 marks as was done in the past, they added.
