Eluru: Tadepalligudem MLA and former minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao alleged that the Telugu Desam Party activists attacked BJP National president Amit Shah at Alipiri in Tirupati with a vengeance and conspiracy.

The former minister, while addressing the media at Tadepalligudem on Friday, condemned the attack by TDP workers on BJP president Amit Shah, who visited pilgrim centre Tirumala to offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara.

The former minister said “The TDP workers, in a planned manner, attacked Amit Shah at Alipiri while he was returning to Tirupati from Tirumala.’’ He alleged that the law and order situation in AP worsened and the attack on a national leader indicated the grave situation in the state.

Manikyala made a request to the Governor ESL Narasimhan to review the law and order situation in the state and take necessary steps. He alleged that the TDP government is trying to oppress the opposition by ignoring democratic values. It shows total failure of police and TDP government to protect the BJP national leader.

“It indicates that the TDP Government wants to settle the issues through attacks on the opposition and terrorise the people. Former Municipal chairman Etakota Tataji, Municipal floor leader Yeggina Nagababu and other BJP leaders were present at the press meet.
