Vijayawada: Krishna district Superintendent of Police Sarvashresth Tripathi said that women, who choose the police department as their profession, should ensure security to women and be role models to others.

He was addressing the meeting organised on the occasion of successful completion of nine months training by 54 women constables at the Machilipatnam office on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that most of the women constables were well qualified, who had completed graduation and engineering, and the society need their services.

He said that most of them were from rural areas and their service to the department should give good reputation to their native place. He said that any problem that comes to their notice should be reported at the nearest police station and solve the problems.

He appealed to the women constables to maintain decency over the compliant to get correct information legally during interrogation. He said that all women constables should render their services effectively at their respective places, he added.
