The project, which will be easing out traffic congestion in the busy junction, is also a part of NH-5, that is well connected to the airport and other prominent localities in the city. This place requires better management of the traffic congestion and the ongoing NAD flyover is deemed to do the same.

1. The flyover is being constructed at a cost of Rs 113 crore
2. The flyover will serve over 10,000 cars and one lakh people
3. Pedestrian walkways, landscaping, bus stops, footpaths to be developed as well

The project, which was taken up by Vijay Nirman Company at an estimated cost of Rs 113 crore, is expected to be completed by November 2019. The company was reportedly taking the guidance of the experts from NIT Warangal regarding design.

After the foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the city traffic police cleared a few dividers at strategic locations and arranged barricades to facilitate smooth passage of the project. The police further informed that at present, the traffic flow in the area is as usual, newer traffic diversions would be imposed soon, said a senior traffic official in the city.

Speaking to The Hans India, West MLA Gana Babu (PVGR Naidu) said that the denizens, who are passing across NAD, were facing tough times with the traffic jams, during medical emergency period it is difficult to reach the hospitals on time.

“Once the flyover was constructed it would consist of three different layers which would facilitate separate passages for different categories of vehicles. The proposed design also suggests that there would be walkways for pedestrians and a recreational park as a median. A six-lane under passage rotary separator type-3 level flyover at NAD flyover.

Multi -levels with three lanes on the first level and four lanes on the second level. The flyover will serve over 10,000 cars and one lakh people. Pedestrian walkways, landscaping, bus stops, and footpaths would be developed as well”, he added
