Tirupati: Mild tension prevailed when a trivial argument lead to a conflict and verbal abuse between MA previous students and research scholars in SV University on Saturday night. The harsh comments made by one of the students of MA previous against a PhD scholar made him to react seriously and they pushed each other and the conflict has grown out of proportion.

At that stage University officials have entered the scene. Rector Prof M Bhaskar, Registrar Prof DK Anuradha, Principal Prof G Savaraiah and others rushed to the ‘I Block’ of the hostels and discussed with both students and scholars.

Police also reached there to prevent any untoward incident. According to the Principal Prof Savaraiah, the Ph D scholars demanded for a separate block to them and they don’t want to stay with the PG previous year students. University officials took steps to send the MA previous students to ‘E block’ where some rooms are available. “PhD students wanted to shift the students in the night itself.

We persuaded them and gave time till 5 pm on Sunday to vacate I block and move to E block and pasted a notice on the board”, Prof Savariah said. Rector, Registrar and Principal stayed at the hostel itself till the wee hours of Sunday.

Again on Sunday morning the scholars reached V-C bungalow and sat before the main gate demanding for the immediate shifting of students. V-C Prof A Damodaram, Rector, Registrar and Principal reached to the hostel and held discussions. Finally, all the students have been shifted to E block.
