Vizianagaram: Police busted a gang, which was involved in circulation of fake currency. On a tip-off, police arrested the gang members and seized the fake currency notes, printer, Xerox machine and inks. On Sunday, Superintendent of Police S Palaraju produced the gang before the media and explained how the gang was circulating the fake currency.

Sheik Peer was working in a flower shop owned by B Tirupathi Rao of Bobbili. L Tavudu of Bobbili had introduced B Srinivasa Rao to Tirupathi Rao. Srinivasa Rao has criminal record and even many cases were registered against him in Srikakulam and Rajam police stations.

Srinivasa Rao had taken Rs.1.5 lakhs from the owner of flower shop Tirupathi Rao and paid the fake notes worth of Rs 5.25 lakhs. Police arrested all the gang members and seized colour printers, Xerox machine, CPU and other material. Police registered a case and took up investigation. Bobbili DSP S Sowmya Latha and others were present at the press meet.
