Nellore: Agriculture Minister S Chandramohan Reddy said that the BJP leaders at national level are giving a warning that action would be taken against AP after Karnataka polls. He addressed at TDP’s Mini Mahanadu at Venkatachalam near here on Monday.

The Minister said the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has been doing a lot for the state even though there was no active support from the union government. He said the Telugu Desam party answered to political gimmicks of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi earlier.

``Your tricks will not be fruitful in 2019 elections. You are doing injustice to the Andhra people to take revenge against Chief Minister which the people are keenly observing. At least, now, if you consider SCS to the state, we respect you and our people also express their happiness over your changed mindset,” said Somireddy.

``If you think to adjust with YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, people are ready to teach you a lesson,’’ he warned the BJP. Further, criticising on remarks of the opposition, Chandramohan Reddy said that they had almost completed works of Nellore and Sangam barrages which were neglected earlier. He also said they had obtained permissions from the Forest ministry giving scope for water supply for an additional area of 1.10 lakh acres in the district.

``Water supply for every household is going to be a reality with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,600 crore. We have already developed roads in the district by spending Rs 2,500 crore and spent Rs 62 crore for lift irrigation scheme.

What else others can do? We laid more focus on Podalakur constituency for providing drinking water incurring and expenditure of Rs 9.50 crore for renovation to tanks. Still, YSR Congress leaders are saying there is no development,” regretted the Minister.

He said people would teach them a lesson in the forthcoming polls. City Mayor Abdul Aziz, and local leaders were present in the meeting. Leaders from Brahmadevam joined the ruling party in the presence of Somireddy.
