The TDP is going to celebrate Mahanadu as a festival in Vijayawada for a week. The event will begin with installation of a  cut-out of party founder-president N T Rama Rao on May 23. Though the meetings will be organised for three days from May 27 to 29, the party is going to celebrate it for the entire week.

Amaravati: The TDP is going to celebrate Mahanadu as a festival in Vijayawada for a week. The event will begin with installation of a cut-out of party founder-president N T Rama Rao on May 23. Though the meetings will be organised for three days from May 27 to 29, the party is going to celebrate it for the entire week.

After placing NTR’s cut-out on May 23 at the meeting venue, president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s cut-out will be erected on May 24. Volunteers’ march fast and photo exhibition will be held on May 25 and arrangements will be completed by May 26.

On the other hand, the TDP formed Mahanadu committees at a state-level executive body meeting headed by party AP president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao at Chief Minister’s residence in Undavalli on Wednesday. All the Cabinet ministers have been given various responsibilities through Mahanadu committees.

All the committees will meet at Vijayawada on Thursday, said Venkata Rao in a press conference here on Wednesday. Urban development minister P Narayana was given the responsibilities of sanitation in Vijayawada city, lodging and boarding, minister for irrigation Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and sports minister Kollu Ravindra will ensure food services in the Mahanadu.

Minister for agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and information and public relations minister Kalava Srinivasulu were given the responsibility of media committee management. Party Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, A V Ramana and Butchi Lingam will ensure the enrolment and issuing of membership cards to the visitors and leaders, who are being appointed in the membership enumeration committee.

A team of members along with MP N Siva Prasad were given the responsibility to organise cultural programmes in Mahanadu. Beeda Ravichandra Yadav, Kothakota Dayakar Reddy, Deepak Reddy and Satyanarayana Raju were appointed as members in the volunteers committee and they have to ensure smooth functioning of Mahanadu and assist the visitors and leaders.

Minister K Atchannaidu, his brother’s son and MP K Rammohan Naidu, MLC Payyavula Kesav, Aravind Kumar, Peddi Reddy and Varla Ramaiah will take the responsibility of organising Mahanadu programme on the dais. They will execute minute to minute programme of meetings as per schedule. Ministers K Atchannaidu and N Chinarajappa were assigned traffic management and parking responsibilities.
