Narayana for abolition of Governors system
CPI national secretary K Narayana said that the gubernatorial system should be abolished in the country immediately. Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Narayana said that the Governors were misusing their powers which was against the democratic norms with the present Karnataka drama as the latest example.

He wondered as to how the BJP leaders were highlighting the single largest party issue now as against their previous stand during the elections of Goa and Meghalaya states. He opined that the Governors should not have any role in the formation of governments.
He said that the BJP morally lost in Karnataka elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah were going against the democratic norms. He asked the duo to answer about the fiasco of the scrapping of big notes.
The Centre failed to reveal how much black money was brought out due to its demonetisation plan, he reiterated. Expressing concern over boats being run without proper safety norms, the CPI leader also requested the state government to take precautionary measures wherever the boats are being operated in the state.
He thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for allotting three acre land for construction of Chandra Rajeswara Rao Charitable Trust building in Amaravati capital. The trust would extend services for aged people, he said.
CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna took strong exception to the comments of newly-elected BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana. “Kanna gave false statements on the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act,” he said and asked the BJP chief to show where the 85 per cent of promises were implemented by the Centre. He also asked the state government to order an inquiry into the boat accident.
