The ONGC, Kakinada unit, as part of CSR activity has taken up measures for the welfare of differently abled in East Godavari district. As a part of   this programme, ONGC Eastern Offshore Asset, Kakinada, undertook medical care for these sections.

Kakinada: The ONGC, Kakinada unit, as part of CSR activity has taken up measures for the welfare of differently abled in East Godavari district. As a part of this programme, ONGC Eastern Offshore Asset, Kakinada, undertook medical care for these sections.

The ONGC in association with Hyderabad-based Aakar Asha Hospital brought hope to them. Those with different disabilities and disfigurements, some by birth, accidents or by burns were identified and provided necessary medical care. Under this programme, camps were organised in Kakinada, Amalapuram, Resole and Ravulapalem in East Godavari district from May12 to 14.

In all, 100 patients many of whom h who lost hopes of recovery visited the camps. Sixty of these were identified, who could be provided relief by surgical reconstruction. Expert doctors and trained staff took care of the patients.

The patients after screening at the camps, have been advised to visit Aakar Asha Hospital in Hyderabad for reconstruction surgery. ONGC supported the cause with Rs 10 lakh financial assistance. Several ONGC officials led by ED - Asset Manager Amok Nada, GM head HR DK Kalra, GM HR A Aramugam, CSR coordinator P.Sanker were present.
