TG Venkatesh conducts mass marriages
Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh has performed marriages to 54 couples at MRC function hall here on Wednesday, on the occasion of his birthday. The TDP leader has been conducting mass marriages for poor and downtrodden couples for the last 20 years.
Kurnool: Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh has performed marriages to 54 couples at MRC function hall here on Wednesday, on the occasion of his birthday. The TDP leader has been conducting mass marriages for poor and downtrodden couples for the last 20 years.
Around 54 couples belonging to various castes were united in the marriage. The marriages were performed according to the customs and rituals followed by their communities. The newly wedded couples were given Tali, Leg finger rings (mettalu), silk clothes and a cash of Rs 30000 to each couple.
TG Venkatesh family members, who were present on the occasion, have blessed the newly wedded couples. The TDP leaders, government officials and voluntary organisation members were also present. The MP said that he has been performing mass marriages for the last 20 years and vowed to continue the noble cause till he lives.
