In today’s digital world, one cannot spend much time staring at a screen and now they are getting opportunity to learn via different means and methods, especially through apps during dull summer vacation which would be so thought-provoking if coupled with animation.

Nellore: In today’s digital world, one cannot spend much time staring at a screen and now they are getting opportunity to learn via different means and methods, especially through apps during dull summer vacation which would be so thought-provoking if coupled with animation.

Consequently, kids needn’t confine to boring televisions where they have to watch rotten stories, and movie masala and can watch ever interesting mythological content besides playing stuff in a stimulating way beneficial to widen knowledge base.

Even grandmothers say Indian mythology is one of the richest elements of Indian culture and different stories in it have been passed from generation to generation either by word of mouth or through carefully stored scriptures for entertaining everyone with wonderful collection of educating and meaningful stories. Kids love short stories to read as many times without getting bore that will inspire them greatly.

Now, children who are addicting to mobile phones and tabs, are loving stories, entertainment and a world of fantasy with animation movies and apps like Srimad Bhagavatham, Maha Bharatam, Panchatantra Kathalu, Maryada Ramanna Kathalu, Bhetala Kathalu, Telugu Samethalu, Telugu Riddles (Podupu Kathalu), Bal Hanuman, Shri Krishna, Karna and Sudhama, Srimad Ramayanam, Yudhishtara and Nala Damayanhti, and many more. “These were being told by grandmas to the kids during leisure time in olden days and the apps are filing the gap with added spice.”

“Apart from educational, recreational and sports apps, these mythological apps are currently big hit with content and animations that normally attract children,” said K Bhanumathi, a primary teacher from Balaji Nagar area. In fact, other than for gaming, apps have always been developed for children to learn new things.

The Indian market for children's apps is now set to explode but should oblige advices from educationists and behaviour specialists, she added. Not only stories on Bhagavatam, Ramayanam, Maha Bharatham, and other epics there are many applications for Telugu Satakamulu like Vemana, Sumathi, Bhaskara, Srikrishna, Dasarathi, Kumara, Sri Kalahastiswara and many other popular ones in Telugu literature quenching the thirst of lovers of tradition and culture. “Mobile phone or a tab cannot be deserted from reach of the children, but parents should know how to use it
guiding the children in right direction.
