VMC celebrates for bagging Swachh Survekshan award
Mayor Koneru Sridhar and Municipal Commissioner J Nivas on Thursday congratulated the VMC staff, corporators and denizens for winning the fourth cleanest city award under the Swachh Survekshan.
Vijayawada: Mayor Koneru Sridhar and Municipal Commissioner J Nivas on Thursday congratulated the VMC staff, corporators and denizens for winning the fourth cleanest city award under the Swachh Survekshan. The Mayor, the Commissioner, the corporators and the officials celebrated the event by cutting the cake at the VMC Council Hall.
Indoor and Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh secured first and second ranks. Chandigarh bagged third rank followed by Vijayawada with fourth rank in the country. Vijayawada got 19th rank in 2017 and now reached the fourth place in 2018 with improvement of hygienic conditions in the city.
Swachh Survekshan results were announced by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi on Wednesday. Survey conducted in 4,203 cities from January 4 to March 10, 2018.
