350 cr for city roads: Narayana

Nellore: Municipal Minister P Narayana informed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned Rs 350 crore for laying roads in the city. He inaugurated a 60-feet road constructed at a cost of Rs 1.9 crore in Magunta Layout here.

Speaking to the media on Friday, the Minister said that they had sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for development works in the Central Park and another Rs 9.9 crore for CC road in Magunta Layout. He explained that works of the Central Park and CC road would be completed within two months.

“85 per cent of drinking water works in the city and 70 per cent of underground drainage works have been completed in the city. Under Ground Drainage and water works would be completed between October and December this year,” said the Municipal Minister.

“We had taken up development works of 24 municipal parks in the city and they would be completed within next 3-6 months,” he added. The Minister said that they had also renovated burial grounds in the Corporation limits.

He explained that they had invited tenders for the proposed Outer Ring Road and it would take a minimum of 3 years to complete the process. Municipal schools in the city would be provided all basic amenities such as drinking water, toilets and others, said the Minister.

He mentioned that state government has been focusing on the Nellore city and also rural areas by allocating funds. Further, the Minister participated in Mini Mahanadu in Nellore city. Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and others were present.
