Unlock rural sports talent: Minister Kollu

Visakhapatnam: Youth and sports minister Kollu Ravindra directed the officials to tap local talent in sports.

Conducting a review meeting with sports officials from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam at circuit house on Saturday, he said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was giving top priority for sports and youth in the district.

Stating that youth from villages should come forward and actively participate in sports activities, he said the players from villages should approach district sports officials for financial assistance in honing their skills in respective games.

He said financial benefits should reach properly to eligible sports persons without any discrimination. He asked the district officials to bring to his notice any departmental issues while performing their duties. He also directed the officials to implement the development works and clear those files immediately.
