Ongole: The Prakasam district unit of Andhra Pradesh Revenue Licensed Surveyors Association staged a protest in front of the collectorate on Monday, demanding the government appoint them as deputy surveyors or assistant surveyors and offer honorarium for working for the government.

Association district president D V Bhaskar Reddy said that they had been working for the government for many years but had not been receiving any salary. They are assisting the mandal surveyors in various survey works, including the land survey for industries and farm land, he said.

He said that they were also given training on the ETS and Auto CAD by the government for digitisation of the survey records using latest technologies.

Bhaskar Reddy said that revenue minister K E Krishna Murthy promised them to take as deputy surveyor or assistant surveyor by providing a honorarium of Rs 15,000 per month, but there is no sign of it being implemented. He demanded that the government implement the promise of the minister and help them earn a decent income.
