Political BC Joint Action Committee formed

Vijayawada: As the elections buzz started in the State, Backward Classes organisations have decided to fight for their rights particularly to get their share in the power.
Representatives of various caste associations on Sunday formed Political BC JAC in the State. N Venkata Ramana, an entrepreneur from East Godavari, has been appointed as the chairman of the Political BC JAC. Under the leadership of Venkata Ramana, district level committees will be formed in two months.
BC Sankshema Sangham national president R Krishnaiah presided over the meeting which was convened at a hotel at Gandhinagar here on Sunday. Representatives from 80 associations participated in the meeting. The representatives unanimously decided to form a Political JAC to fight for the rights of the
BCs and due share in the political power. Addressing a media conference after the meeting, R Krishnaiah said district committees of the Political BC JAC will be formed in all 13 districts of the state within two months.
He alleged that political parties run by the upper caste leaders were treating the backward classes as voting machines. He said that those representing the Backward Classes have been fighting for political reservations in Parliament for a long time without much success.
He said the BCs were living in deplorable condition in the two Telugu states for many decades and they need proper representation in the legislative bodies for their social and economic development.
He regretted that no political party in India was fighting for political representation for BCs in the Parliament. He called upon the Backward Classes to fight unitedly to achieve their objectives. Former minister Paleti Ramarao and BC leaders from various parts of the State attended the meeting.
