Guntur urban police raided the house of Pamulapati Sankar Rao at Gundlapalem village under Medikonduru mandal and seized banned gutka stock worth Rs 8.64 lakh from him. According to police, the accused Sankara Rao was getting stock from other states and selling banned gutka in the district to make a fast buck.

On a tip-off, Guntur urban police raided Sankara Rao's residence and seized 144 bags of gutka packets ready for distribution. The market value of gutka is estimated at Rs.8.64 lakh. Police arrested Sankara Rao and registered a case and took up investigation.
