The Potu workers who held an urgent meeting at Tirumala on Tuesday evening stoutly denied any digging in the Potu (temple kitchen) located near the sanctum of Tirumala temple.

Sharply reacting to the reported remarks of Ramana Deekshitulu that offering of Prasadams to God an important ritual being held daily in the shrine was suspended due to the stoppage of preparation of Prasadam in Potu, due to digging in the temple kitchen, the workers said it was baseless and mischievous.

The workers said they were pained and hurt at the remarks creating aspersions on the dedicated temple kitchen workers engaged in the service of the Lord. They warned that if Deekshitulu did not stop making such allegations, they will take legal action against him.

They pointed that repairs were taken at the kitchen by TTD many times including in 2001, 2007 and 2017 but no digging was done at the Potu.
Meanwhile, in a significant development, Ramana Deekshitulu, who is in New Delhi met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president Amit Shah but the contents of the meetings are not known.

It is learnt that the demand of Deekshitulu for CBI enquiry into the irregularities in TTD also came up at the meeting the Chief Minister held with TTD chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav and executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal at Amaravati on Tuesday.

BJP MP Subramanya Swamy in a tweet declared that he had decided to take up the case of Ramana Deekshitulu as he was convinced that the TTD management was committing mistakes, giving a new twist to Deekshitulu episode. He said he will fight the case in Supreme Court.
