Regulatory body soon to monitor movement of boats
A meeting was held between the officials of the two Godavari districts and boat associations at the Roads and Buildings Guest House here on Tuesday. Collectors, Superintendents of Police, officials of irrigation, tourism, revenue and port departments participated in the meeting.
Rajamahendravaram: A meeting was held between the officials of the two Godavari districts and boat associations at the Roads and Buildings Guest House here on Tuesday. Collectors, Superintendents of Police, officials of irrigation, tourism, revenue and port departments participated in the meeting.
The meeting decided to implement the rules strictly on operation of boats and motor launches in River Godavari. It has discussed on sanction of temporary permits and increasing vigil on boats.
Addressing the meeting, East Godavari Collector Karthikeya Misra said that the government will constitute a regulatory authority shortly to regulate the movement of launches and boats in the river. Temporary permits were issued to boat operators for three months i.e., up to August this year and later permanent licenses would be issued to them.
