The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Kuchipudi Srinivasa Rao, station fire officer, Autonagar in the city, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant Muddala Ramakrishna for doing an official favour on Wednesday.
Vijayawada: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Kuchipudi Srinivasa Rao, station fire officer, Autonagar in the city, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant Muddala Ramakrishna for doing an official favour on Wednesday.
According to ACB DGP R Thakur, the complainant applied for the fire inspection at Vijaya Durga Petrochemicals in Auto Nagar. The official demanded Rs 1 lakh for the visit and inspection. The complainant approached the ACB officials and informed the demand made by the fire officer.
The ACB officials laid the trap and nabbed while accepting the bribe at his office in the fire station on Wednesday. Ramakrishna had earlier applied for the new metre after fire broke out in the factory recently. For which, inspection of the fire officer was necessary.
