The Director, Centre for SAARC Studies and Member, Executive Council, Andhra University, Prof Prasada Rao, met the Eminent Persons Group from Nepal, which visited the Visakhapatnam Port to study the possibilities for better coordination for shipment of imported goods from Visakhapatnam port to Nepal.

Visakhapatnam: The Director, Centre for SAARC Studies and Member, Executive Council, Andhra University, Prof Prasada Rao, met the Eminent Persons Group from Nepal, which visited the Visakhapatnam Port to study the possibilities for better coordination for shipment of imported goods from Visakhapatnam port to Nepal.

Prof Rao held discussions with Prof Mahendra P Lama, who was a part of the delegation from Nepal. He discussed the potential areas of research vis-à-vis Nepal in the light of the country’s linkages with the Visakhapatnam port as a development within SAARC. Prof Rao also focused on field studies in Nepal and China in the wake of growing influence of China in South Asia.

Earlier, Prof Lama visited the Centre for SAARC Studies of Andhra University to deliver the keynote address on the occasion of international seminar on India’s Foreign Policy vis-à-vis South Asia. Dr Sreemannarayana Murthy, assistant professor and Dr Rambabu of the AERC Centre and others were present.
