Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna said the government would encourage Dalits and women entrepreneurs to set up industrial units in the district.

Inaugurating Shine Roofing Metals at Papireddipalli in Gangadhara Nellore mandal on Friday, he said under Stand-up India scheme, the banks have financed Rs 1.26 crore for establishing 636 units in the district.

Complimenting the entrepreneurs of industry, he said President Ram Nath Kovind during his recent visit to Tirupati had presented sanction letters of the unit under Stand-up India scheme to David Rose, Marri Chandra and P Thangamani.

The Shine Roofing Metal industry has come into reality within no time, he added. The government is exploring all possibilities for improving the income of woman in the district, he added. Anil Kumar Reddy, General Manager, District Industries Centre, briefed the industrial growth in the district and promised to encourage women and Dalit entrepreneurs.

Rama Mohana Rao, Lead Manager, Indian Bank, said that there was tremendous response from youth for availing the benefits under Stand-up India scheme. Managing Director of Shine Roofing Metals welcomed the guests.
