One electrocuted, three injured
One person was electrocuted while three others sustained serious injuries when they came in contact with a live wire at Bacculetigudem village in T Narsapuram mandal on Friday. According to police, Korsa Singaraju of Bacculetigudem village in T Narsapuram mandal had placed his wet towel on a bamboo wall on Thursday night after taking a bath.
Eluru: One person was electrocuted while three others sustained serious injuries when they came in contact with a live wire at Bacculetigudem village in T Narsapuram mandal on Friday. According to police, Korsa Singaraju of Bacculetigudem village in T Narsapuram mandal had placed his wet towel on a bamboo wall on Thursday night after taking a bath.
However, a live wire that was cut off from the pole fell on the bamboo wall and current passed through the wet towel. In this incident, Singaraju received a current shock. On witnessing this, his wife Manemma and his brother Veerabhadrudu tried to save him. However, both of them received electric shocks.
Hearing the cries of the three, Singaraja's son Jagadeesh (24) came and tried to save the three. However, he was electrocuted. The other three received serious burn injuries due to electrocution. Jagadeesh is survived by his wife and a two- month-old daughter.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body of Jagadeesh to Chintalapudi for post-mortem. The other three, who received serious burn injuries, were admitted to the Chintalapudi Government Hospital for treatment. According to doctors, they were said to be out of danger.
