Srikakulam: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan began a one-day hunger strike at Datla resort in the district on Friday, demanding that the state government immediately address the problems faced by the people in Uddanam area who are suffering from a strange chronic kidney disease (CKD). He is expected to shift the venue of his hunger strike to Municipal Stadium in Srikakulam on Saturday. The protest will end at 5 pm.

Pawan Kalyan, who is on his Porata Yatra in a bus from Srikakulam to focus the attention of the people on how the BJP and the Telugu Desam Party had betrayed the interests of the state after bifurcation. He spent time with the patients during the last five days and sought to know from the government what steps it has taken so far to address the problem.
