Vijayawada: Gurram Ram Prakash, general surgeon from Vijayawada secured All India first rank in Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Super Specialty Entrance Test.

He would pursue the three-year MCH in Surgical Gastroenterology which was very crucial.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Dr Ram Prakash informed that after completing the specialisation course at Pondicherry, JIPMER he would come back and serve the people of Vijayawada.

He said the main aim was to provide quality treatment in gastroenterology even to common people.

He said with an agricultural family background, his father GVSN Murthy (agriculturist) and his mother G Nagaraja Kumari (teacher) encouraged him in studies right from his childhood.

He said with the support and encouragement of Harini Hospital gastroenterologist Tirumala Rao, he could achieve All India first rank, he added.

Dr Tirumala Rao said that Dr Ram secured seat in MBBS at Siddhartha Medical College.

Later, he focused on studies with an ambition to become a super specialty doctor.

After MBBS, he secured seat in Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam and was a gold medalist in MS, he added.

Parents, wife and others congratulated Dr Ram Prakash for his achievement.
