Vijayawada: TDP state president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao has said the TDP government had fulfilled 98 per cent of the promises mentioned in the election manifesto in 2014.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion of three-day Mahanadu, which began at the VR Siddhartha Engineering college grounds here on Sunday, he said the TDP government is committed to the welfare of people and the development of the state and tried its level best to fulfill all assurances given in the 2014 manifesto.

Later, Kala Venkata Rao introduced the resolution on the ‘Election manifesto-implementations’ and AP's vision 2020, 2029 and 2050 in Mahanadu. He said election manifesto is equal to the heart beat of Chandrababu Naidu and he tried his best to fulfill all the promises that were made to people of the state in the four-year rule.

He recalled that Naidu after taking the oath signed on the files related to loan waiver to farmers and self-help groups, enhancing the age limit of government employees and removal of belt shops. He said the TDP government had spent Rs 24,000 crore for loan waiver to farmers and 85 lakh DWCRA women.

He said the TDP government during its four-year tenure spent Rs 50,000 crore for irrigation projects. He listed out the projects under construction in various parts of the state particularly in north Andhra and Rayalaseema districts.

He said the state government is fighting with the Central government to get funds to complete the Polavaram project. Andhra Pradesh is ahead of other states in power generation and it has successfully overcome the power crisis, which he said was rampant during the time of bifurcation.

He also announced welfare schemes like sanction of scholarships to BC students, education loans to students of weaker sections, loan waiver to weavers and pensions sanctioned to weavers.

He came down heavily on the BJP government for failing to fulfill the assurances in the Bifurcation Act to the state. TDP MLA Jaya Nageswara Reddy and Prakasam district leader Nukasani Balaji have supported the resolution on implementation of manifesto.

Excise and Prohibition Minister K S Jawahar narrated the welfare schemes being implemented by the government. Later, the Chief Minister spoke on the election manifesto and implementation. He said the TDP government had tried its level best to fulfill the election manifesto.
