Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu gave enough hints on his future role in the national politics in his speech at Mahanadu which began on Sunday here. The inaugural speech of Naidu on the first day confirmed the TDP’s active participation in the third front.

According to highly reliable sources, the TDP is already making plans in this regard. Naidu also recalled in his speech that the party could change the national politics in future. He opined that the BJP would not come to power in the next elections.

Similarly the Congress lost the faith of the public of the nation, he said. The regional parties would play important role, he said and spoke of the prospects of third front in lighter vein. But he did not elaborate more on this.

The sources say the TDP wants to conduct a big public meeting in Guntur city or Amaravati capital city location soon with the leaders of various regional parties in the country.

The leaders of Left parties expressed their willingness to join hands with the TDP for the formation of third front with the common aim of unseating Narendra Modi Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao mooted federal front proposal and met several leaders of regional parties. But he did not get proper response and could not create a platform.

Now the TDP is making plans to create alternative platform against the BJP. Several regional parties expressed their willingness to take part in the future political developments.

The participation of the Congress is yet to be confirmed and there is a difference of opinion on join hands with the party, said a senior TDP leader. He also said that Naidu’s main agenda is only development of the state and he is not interested on Prime Minister’s post.

Moreover, a section of leaders suggested to the TDP supremo that uniting Mayawati, Congress and Left parties would improve the prospects of TDP in the next elections. In this backdrop, the TDP leadership is thinking about creating platform and conduct a mega meeting with national leaders.
