Kakinada: The Kakinada Auto Drivers Association demanded that the state government release GO scrapping penalties on fitness certificates and renewal of driving licenses with immediate effect.
At a meet organised at Sundarayya Bhavan here on Sunday, president of the association Tatapudi Murthy said that the state government issued GO No 25 on May 22 scraping the daily penalties of Rs 50 on both fitness certificate and renewal of driving license for driver.
Murthy wanted the RTA authorities to implement the GO with immediate effect and relieve the auto drivers from paying penalties.
CITU city unit president Palivela Veera Babu also spoke.
