Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu appreciated the officials for effective implementation works under MGNREGA. The state government completed works worth about Rs 920 crore under the MGNREGA in the month of May so far. Chandrababu Naidu said that they have to complete another Rs 100 crore worth works under the project in the remaining three days in this month.

During a teleconference on the Neeru-Pragati on Monday, before attending the Mahanadu, Chandrababu Naidu explained that the state achieved wonderful development by judiciously utilising the MGNREGA funds.

On the one hand, we have utilising these funds for development and creating infrastructure in the rural area and on the other hand we were successfully providing employment to the poor through the MGNREGA, the Chief Minister explained.

The state government converged many works into the MGNREGA, which will be considered as the best practice, said Chandrababu Naidu. He asked the officials to maintain transparency and added that the ration of material and labour component should be maintained in the works. He directed the officials to complete soil testing and ensure proper availability of seeds for the ensuing Kharif season.
