Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi has underlined the need to maintain Sulabh and Praja toilets as per guidelines and asked the organisers not to collect extra charges from the users.

Reviewing the maintenance of Sulabh and Praja toilets with the officials and organisers in the office here on Monday, he said the corporation was providing water to the toilets and asked the organisers to maintain them properly.

At the time of festivals, sanitation staff of corporation would assist the toilet organisers to clean them properly, he said.

The organisers should exhibit the details of user charges, timings etc. A meeting would be convened in June to review the maintenance of toilets and action would be taken against the organisers, if any lapses found, the commissioner warned.

Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao, Deputy Commissioner T Rajagopala Rao, sanitary staff and toilet organisers were present.
