Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management department on Wednesday warned that some districts in the State may record very high temperatures between 44-48 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Krishna district may register the highest temperature. The department has warned that some parts of Krishna district may record temperatures up to 48 degrees Celsius. Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts may record temperatures between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, East and West Godavari, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool districts may register temperatures between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts may register temperatures between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius.

The department warned the people to be on high alert and take measures to avoid problems due to the scorching heat. People from many parts of the State are suffering from high temperatures and suffocation. The only consolation this year is that there are no reports of heat wave deaths so far.
