Officials told to allay fears on Jindal plant

Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna has asked the officials to start the works of Jindal Waste Management plant in Gajulamandyam industrial estate. He held a meeting with the officials and industrialists having units in Gajulamandyam at Sub-Collector’s office in Tirupati on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that there is no need of any dumping yard once the waste management plant is constructed. The works of the plant have started in all the districts but getting delayed in Chittoor district, he stated.

Pradyumna has directed the officials concerned to clear the apprehensions of the people by taking them to other places where the factories are located for a study and the expenditure will be met under the education tour.

Joint Collector PS Girisha, Corporation Commissioner Vijay Rama Raju, Joint Collector-2 V Chandramouli, RDO Kanaka Narasa Reddy, TUDA Secretary Madhavi Latha, APIIC Zonal Manager IL Ram, District Industries General Manager Anil Kumar Reddy and others participated.

During the day, the Collector also released the logo of 36th National Junior Softball tournament to be held at Tarakarama Stadium in Tirupati from June 3-7. The accommodation to the players coming from 27 states will be arranged in hostels of SV Arts College for men and SPMVV hostels for women.
