Vijayawada: Special Chief Secretary, Medical, Health and Family Department Poonam Malakondaiah at a meeting here on Wednesday said that ‘Talli Bidda Raksha’ programmes will commence in all the villages across the state from June 1.

She instructed the officers to organise awareness camps all over the state on preventing AIDS. She participated at the AP State AIDS Control Society Executive Committee meeting. She instructed the officers to identify the increase in the instances of AIDS cases in the state.

She said awareness programmes should be organised at villages with the help of Sadhikara Mitras. She suggested to them to make a special drive from June 1 and test HIV for pregnant women and syphilis test as a part of ‘Talli Bidda Raksha’, she said.
