Amaravati: Build forms (shade, ventilation, green roofs), plantation culture, water bodies and their behaviours and policy decisions are the key areas which affect the climate of a city and proper planning in these four areas can result in temperature to come down by 5-6 degrees, explained CRDA officials with the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

In a review meeting on the CRDA held at Secretariat on Thursday, to counter the heatwaves during summer and to make Amaravati one of the most liveable cities, Naidu discussed on various factors which result in creation of microclimate in the cities.

On the other hand, Naidu was informed by the CRDA Commissioner Sridhar Cherukuri that a free market assessment for bonds was completed and the CRDA was ready to release the bonds on June 6.

Briefing Naidu on roads and highway works, Sridhar Cherukuri said, “Roads and highway works are going on at a good pace. Some areas which were creating issues such as Tadepalli have been resolved and survey was completed last week.”

Tender process for high court complex has been completed and it will be an iconic structure with an expenditure of Rs 1,685 crore, he added. Officials from Dassault Systems showcased their simulation system to Naidu which would help in real time surveillance of Amaravati.

This system would help in areas such as urban planning, detecting seismic activities, disaster management and tracking progress of projects among many other functions. The officials informed Naidu that the programme was created by keeping all the key elements of “Happy City” concept in mind and was in sync with the vision of Amaravati.

The Chief Minister also reviewed an Urban Mobility System which would be powered by Internet of Things (IOT). This system would enable autonomous vehicles to directly pick up the passengers from designated zones and would also guide the vehicles to nearest charging points, pick up zones and parking lots.

“You need to explore simulation models and alternatives for better results as Amaravati is providing you with a Greenfield area unlike other cities. You also need to complete the designing and simulation in the next six months and to further boost your project’s pace. For this your organisation can take the help of students by training them.

This exposure will be beneficial for them as well,” said the Chief Minister. Naidu also reviewed the samples of materials to be used in the Anna Canteens. Naidu said, “We need a strategic approach to accelerate our progress and an efficient system to track the results.”
