Delay in offshore project irks Palasa MLA
Palasa MLA Sivaji vented his ire at executive engineer Ch Sekhar for delay in offshore project in Palasa Assembly segment in the district. Unable to digest inordinate delay in the offshore project, Sivaji responded seriously at the Zilla Parishad general body meeting here on Thursday which was presided over by Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ch Dhanalaxmi.
Srikakulam: Palasa MLA Sivaji vented his ire at executive engineer Ch Sekhar for delay in offshore project in Palasa Assembly segment in the district. Unable to digest inordinate delay in the offshore project, Sivaji responded seriously at the Zilla Parishad general body meeting here on Thursday which was presided over by Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ch Dhanalaxmi.
It may be recalled foundation was laid for the offshore project in 2007 in Palasa Assembly segment and it would provide water for 2,007 acres in Palasa Assembly segment. Actually, the project was supposed to be completed by July 31, 2018 as per agreement signed between the government and contracting company.
According to executive engineer, the project would be completed by June 2019. While MLA Sivaji, who was present at the Zilla Parishad meeting, reminded that the former had informed the Chief Minister during a meeting in Vijayawada that the project would be completed by this year July. Meanwhile, Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy intervened and pacified the MLA by assuring to finish works by end of November 2018.
