Help increase voter-population ratio: AJC to parties

Ongole: Additional Joint Collector D Markandeyulu asked the representatives of various political parties to see that there is no error in the additions and modifications of voters in the district.

He said that this is the final chance to make modifications before the elections and asked the parties to be careful in suggesting changes.

Markandeyulu conducted a meeting with the representatives of various parties at Collectorate on Friday.

He said that there are only 654 voters for 1,000 population in the district and asked the representatives to try to increase the number of voters by creating awareness among the public and suggesting the eligible people.

He said that a supervisor is appointed for every 10 polling booths in the district and informed them that the Collector ordered the Tahsildars to submit a report every three days.

The parties complained the Additional Joint Collector that there is a large number of applications pending online and the BLOs appointed by the government are very negligent.

They asked him to take up awareness programmes and conduct similar meetings at mandal and village levels to increase number of voters.

The politicians, GV Kondareddy from CPM, DS Krantikumar from YSRCP, R Venkatarao from CPI, D Erraiah from BSP, Vinnakota Suresh Babu from BJP, Kommuri Ravichandra from TDP participated in the meeting.
