Vizianagaram: The three-day tour of Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan concluded in Vizianagaram district on Saturday. He participated in public meetings at Salur, Kurupam, Parvathipuram, Bobbili and Cheepurupalli and appealed to people not to believe the TDP and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Hundreds of youth participated in his tour and made the arrangements. But no politicians like sarpanches, MPPs, ZPTC or former MLAs had followed him and participated in the programmes. Only Pawan Kalyan ran the show and criticised the State and Union governments. Though there was no involvement of people’s representatives, the youth were excited and followed their favourite hero.

The leaders of the ruling party opined that the film actor-turned-politician lacked political awareness. They also point out he frequently changes his stand on different issues. A senior MPP of Telugu Desam said,”Pawan Kalyan has no idea on politics and he can't run his party for long.

He has some emotion but due to his instability, no leader from other parties is joining Jana Sena. Of course, he has good reputation and craze but he has no consistency and clear cut opinion. Frequently he is changing his ideas, policies and opinions. So the professional politicians are staying away from his party."

Several leaders like Gurana Ayyalu, Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao and others had earlier joined Praja Rajyam which was founded by Pawan’s elder brother K Chiranjeevi but now nobody was seen joining Jana Sena during Pawan’s tour.

Another people’s representative pointed out that Pawan’s party lacks recognition as it is yet to be granted election symbol. ZPTC of Gajapathi Nagaram M Sridhar said,”Pawan is saying that he is going to contest from every Assembly constituency in this State but so far he has no symbol. How can a voter identify his party and vote for him.

There is no time to promote his party and a symbol. How can he take his symbol into public and get their votes. It seems that Pawan has no maturity, idea and experience to run his party."

K Narasinga Rao, district president of Telugu Yuvatha said, "Only the students, undergraduates and youth below the age of 25 years are attending Pawan’s meetings. But I doubt if they have registered their names in voters list.

It seems that the youth are attending his meetings with cinema craze only. Even the common voter is also not considering Pawan as serious politician.” The Telugu Yuvatha leader further said the educated people also failed to show much interest in Pawan’s tour.
