Vijayawada: All suspicious people should undergo HIV test, said Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) joint director M Chandrashekar. Speaking at a meeting to create awareness on HIV test to the suspicious persons at Targeted International NGO on Monday, Chandrashekar said as per the instructions of medical and health department special secretary Poonam Malakondaiah, suspicious persons should undergo risk assessment test to know about HIV status. A risk assessment form was released on the occasion.

He said the department and NGOs will participate in one-month campaign covering 1.50 lakh population in the district and added suspicious person should fill the risk assessment form to know the status. If the answer is yes for at least one of the six questions in the risk assessment form, that person should be sent to nearest ICTC’s for HIV screening, he added.
