Chittoor: No political party except TDP is relentlessly striving for achieving Special Category Status to the state right from the beginning by quitting the Union Cabinet and leaving the NDA alliance, said industries minister N Amarantha Reddy. He said YSRCP MPs submitted resignations from Lok Sabha with dubious intentions and questioned the delay in accepting them by the “BJP government”.

Participating at 4th Nava Nirmana Deeksha meeting held at Palamaner on Monday , the minister lambasted the YSRCP’s double standard and political gimmicks. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted TDP Central ministers’ resignations in no time, then what made the BJP government dilly-dallying on the resignations of YSRCP MPs? This is a clear proof of YSRCP’s nexus with BJP,” he said.

Stating that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would never go back from the fight for Special Category Status, Amaranatha Reddy said he would continue his Dharma Pooratam against the BJP government. The minister said there has been great response from the people in taking part in the ongoing Nava Nirmana Deeksha programmes which will continue till June 8.

Speaking on the achievements of the TDP government, he said the stage had been set for diverting the Handri-Neeva waters to the western parts of the district covering Thamballapalli, Palamaner, and Kuppam Assembly constituencies. He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would take part in Nava Nirmana Deeskha meets to be held in Punganur and Madanapalli constituencies on June 7 and launch a number schemes on the occasion.

The minister further said that instructions were given to the district collector to issue ration cards to the eligible beneficiaries besides pensions in no time. He also took part in several programmes held in Gangavaram, Peddpanjani and other mandals. Several TDP leaders of Palamaner and Punganur accompanied the minister .
