Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Visakhapatnam, organised an interaction session with Superintendent of Police, Visakhapatnam Rural Rahul Dev Sharma on Saturday night. The objective of the session was to discuss about the development of the backward districts and remote tribal hamlets.

The objective of the session was to discuss about the development of the backward districts and remote tribal hamlets.

While interacting with the members, Rahul Dev Sharma briefed on the initiatives and projects undertaken by the police including training to women on stitching, driving skills to youth and various youth training programmes in tribal areas, health check-up and industrial visits to rural youth. He suggested that awareness and counselling of youth was needed and added all stakeholders should extend their help in development.

Chairman, CII National Committee on Backward District Development Sudhir Deoras stressed on promotion of the skills and livelihood projects in backward districts through skill gurukuls, multi skills institutes and skill projects. He suggested that corporate sector and government should join together in the coming initiatives.

RVS Rudraraju, Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh and Director RHI Clasil Limited briefed about the activities undertaken by CII AP. He briefed about the project Vidya - an initiative to provide access to basic education in remote tribal hamlets (Guralagummi, Neyyalabanda, Nittamamidi, Goyyagunta, Bangarubuddi, Pedaporulu, Ubalagaruvu, Rochupanuku, Raipadu) in Visakhapatnam district.
