AP National Green Corps (APNGC) organised river and beach cleaning programme from May 31 to April 4 in the state as per instructions of Union ministry of environment, forests and climate change. 

Amaravati: AP National Green Corps (APNGC) organised river and beach cleaning programme from May 31 to April 4 in the state as per instructions of Union ministry of environment, forests and climate change.

The programmes were conducted at Rishikonda, Bheemilipatnam, R K Beach in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada Beach in East Godavari, Machilipatnam beach and Durga ghat in Krishna district, Suryalanka beach, Krishna river near Amaravati temple in Guntur district and Mypadu, Kothakoduru beach in Nellore district, Chirala Vodarevu in Prakasam district, Kalingapatnam beach in Srikakulam district, Swarnamukhi river in Chittoor district with the theme ‘Beat plastic pollution’ and to create awareness among the public by the Eco Club students and officials concerned.

In addition, the APNGC also organised drawing, painting and essay writing competitions for the students on the theme of plastic pollution in all 13 districts to create awareness. The APNGC also held mass rallies on Tuesday on the occasion of World Environment Day in the 13 districts on the harm caused by plastic and avoiding its use.
