A total of 25,358 foundation stones were laid across the state on the second day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha on Sunday, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister reviewed the progress and performance in the first two days of the seven-day programme in a teleconference with senior officials of various departments on Monday. 

Amaravati: A total of 25,358 foundation stones were laid across the state on the second day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha on Sunday, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister reviewed the progress and performance in the first two days of the seven-day programme in a teleconference with senior officials of various departments on Monday.

The government provided 1,42,219 new pensions and 2,07,115 new ration cards were issued to the eligible beneficiaries on the second day.
More than 15 lakh people participated and 12,226 officials visited villages in the programme.

On this occasion, appreciating the efforts of officials, Chandrababu Naidu said that the programme was successful and suggested that more active participation of people be ensured till the end of the Deeksha on June 8.

By spending Rs 68 crore on Handri-Neeva the irrigation department was able to fill 68 water bodies in Pattikonda and Aluru Assembly constituencies in Rayalaseema, explained the Chief Minister.

He said that all these 68 water bodies, including ponds and others, were filled on Sunday and the water would meet the drinking water needs of local people.

Noting that public satisfaction was recorded as 78 per cent, he said it must be increased through the Nava Nirmana Deeksha and public participation must be increased for that.

Visiting villages for one week would be a wonderful opportunity for the entire officials and all the heads of the departments should visit villages in this occasion, he suggested. He further added that the officials must study the local problems and frame suitable plans to solve them.

Explaining the welfare programmes of state government, Naidu told the officials that all these programmes must reach to the genuine beneficiaries irrespective of their political affiliations.

The Nava Nirmana Deeksha would be a public forum to solve the grievances of people, particularly the poor and marginal sections in the society, he explained.

Planning Board secretary Sanjay Gupta, Real Time Governance MD Babu A, all the districts collectors and other senior authorities from various departments participated in the teleconference.
